Josie joined Africa Our Home’s program in Keta, Ghana as a graduate level Public Health Intern. Josie was placed in a clinic through our partnership with Ghana Health Services and she had a homestay placement in the home of one of Keta’s Togbi’s (Chief).
Experience a bit of Josie’s internship visually through these photos highlighting community health outreach and some hidden jewels of this peri-urban West African community. Josie tells us, ” I left a part of my heart in Ghana. I wasn’t expecting that to happen. My experience and the relationships developed were worth it 🙂 “.
In the middle of Josie’s 3-week stay she visited neighboring Lome, Togo with AOH Co-Founders Shawn Dillard and Dom Adabi. For our Keta participants, yummy patisseries and affordably delicious French cuisine is a short 2 hour journey, the perfect weekend get away.
